New columns do not appear in preview of a connected asset

Any updates made to a connected asset's columns might not be reflected in the Asset or Overview page if you interacted with the connection while the updates were processed.

Symptoms

After you add or remove a column from a connected asset, the change is not reflected in the Asset or Overview page of the asset.

Resolving the problem

Complete these steps:

  1. Add or remove the column from the asset.

  2. Wait 10 minutes before interacting with the connection for the connection asset. If you interact with the connection, or any related items, you must wait another 10 minutes.

    Some actions that could cause the columns update to restart:

    • Browsing for assets in the asset browser
    • Clicking the Test button on the connection
    • Previewing a connected data asset
    • Creating or updating a profile
    • Refining a data asset
    • Viewing the connection
  3. Refresh the page to see the updated columns in the connected asset. If the newly added columns appear in the asset Asset page, but not on the Overview page, add the connected asset again.
