Determining your roles

You have multiple roles within IBM Cloud, Watson Studio, and Watson Knowledge Catalog. You can determine what each of your roles are, and, when necessary, who can change your roles. To understand your roles, see Roles in IBM Watson.

Projects and catalogs roles

To determine your role in a project, look at the project Collaborators page. Your role is listed next to your name or the service ID you use to log in.

To determine your role in a catalog, look at the catalog Access Control page. Your role is listed next to your name.

If you want a different role, ask someone who has the Admin role on the Access Control page to change your role.

Watson Knowledge Catalog app roles

To determine whether you have the Watson Knowledge Catalog app Admin role, click Catalogs > View Catalogs. If you see the New Catalog button, you have the role.

If you want the Watson Knowledge Catalog app Admin role, ask an IBM Cloud account owner or administrator to assign it to you. You can find your account administrators on your Identity & Access page in IBM Cloud.

If you are an IBM Cloud account owner or administrator, you can determine whether a user has the Watson Knowledge Catalog app Admin or the Viewer role. Click Manage > Catalogs, click Access Control, and then click the user’s name.

IBM Cloud account roles

To determine whether you have the IBM Cloud account owner or administrator role, click Manage. If you can see the Environment Runtimes and Storage Delegation options, you have the role. Alternatively, you can see your role in IBM Cloud on the Identity & Access page. Click Manage > Account (IAM).

If you want the IBM Cloud account administrator role, ask an IBM Cloud account owner or administrator to assign it to you. You can find your account administrators on your Identity & Access page in IBM Cloud.
