Creating a remote runtime engine for DataStage as a Service Anywhere

Creating a remote runtime engine for DataStage as a Service Anywhere

You can create a remote runtime engine and use DataStage® as a Service Anywhere with any container management platform.

DataStage as a Service Anywhere can be deployed with any container management platform. Startup scripts are provided for Kubernetes and Docker. You can use multiple remote engines in a project, and multiple projects can use the same remote engine.

Once you select a remote environment as a project default environment, you can only use remote environments in that project. You cannot switch back to using IBM Cloud environments for that project's DataStage jobs.

To create a remote engine, run an installation script.
  1. Optional: Follow the instructions in https://github.com/IBM/DataStage/tree/main/RemoteEngine/kubernetes to install with Kubernetes.
  2. Optional: Follow the instructions in https://github.com/IBM/DataStage/tree/main/RemoteEngine/docker to install with Docker.
  3. Optional: Navigate to Settings under the Manage tab of your project, select the Remote option, and click installation script.
