Asset browser (DataStage )

Use the Asset browser to search for connections and assets and add them to your DataStage® flows.

Opening the asset browser

Open the asset browser by selecting Asset Browser in the Connectors section of the DataStage palette. When you open the asset browser from the palette, you can use it to browse connectors, DataStage subflows, and data assets (.csv, .txt, .xls., .xlsx, .xml, .json files).

Click an asset to preview type and size details. Select all assets to add to your DataStage flow by clicking the checkboxes next to their names. Click Add to add them. If you select a connector, the asset browser creates a node of the selected connector type.

When you use the asset browser to access data from a source, a data type for the source data is inferred and passed on to the target. If the actual data of the source has a larger range than the inferred data type of the source, the source's data values can be out of range of the target type, causing the flow to fail. To avoid this, change the data type of the source to accommodate a larger value domain.

Other data assets

The asset browser also opens when you work with other data assets, such as data definitions. When the asset browser opens, the displayed asset types are filtered so that only assets compatible with your work are shown.
