Cloud Function operator
Use the Cloud Function operator to process streaming data, and to make your serverless functions react to incoming events. You can define multiple parallel workers to increase processing rate.
The Cloud Function operator uses the fully managed Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform of IBM Cloud Functions in IBM Cloud. The FaaS platform enables developers to create and run event-driven apps that scale on demand without the need to implement or scale a server. With FaaS, team members can build apps quickly by working on different pieces of code simultaneously. You can process streaming data and make your functions react to incoming events. You can develop functions in different languages or even in your own docker container.
You can run several Cloud Function operators in parallel.
Workers are termed “parallel” because they share the load of consuming the data. Usually, the higher the number of workers, the faster the consumption of data.
