If your enterprise master data solution includes IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management Standard or Advanced Edition, you can use the MDM Publisher tool to export master data directly from InfoSphere MDM into IBM Match 360 on IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
The enriched master data that InfoSphere MDM provides through MDM Publisher can include details such as:
- Relationships between records
- Contract relationships
- Consent management details
Enabling IBM Match 360 to connect to MDM Publisher
Your cluster must be configured to enable the high speed transfer service connection between IBM Match 360 and your MDM Publisher instance.
If your deployment configuration requires IBM Match 360 to load master data from InfoSphere MDM through MDM Publisher, contact IBM Support for guidance about setting up the connection.
Publishing master data from InfoSphere MDM
After configuring the connection, use the MDM Publisher tool with your InfoSphere MDM deployment to transfer master data from your existing MDM system.
For information about setting up and using MDM Publisher to export master data from InfoSphere MDM into IBM Match 360 with Watson, see the MDM Publisher documentation.
To be able to add your IBM Match 360 with Watson service instance as an MDM Publisher target endpoint, you will need a IBM Match 360 service API key. This API key must be generated by an IBM Match 360 with Watson service administrator.
Loading and working with master data from InfoSphere MDM
After you have completed the publishing tasks in MDM Publisher, return to the IBM Match 360 with Watson service to load and begin working with the master data.
When the IBM Match 360 service detects that data has been succesfully published from an InfoSphere MDM instance, users with Data Engineer permissions are prompted to accept and load the data into IBM Match 360. A data engineer can than run the matching algorithm to incorporate the enriched master data into the IBM Match 360 entities.
Next steps
- Add more data assets and sources
- Run the matching algorithm to create master data entities that include the data from InfoSphere MDM, along with any other data sources that you have added
