Replicating IBM Db2 Warehouse data

You can replicate data from other databases to IBM Db2 Warehouse with the Data Replication service.

IBM Db2 Warehouse is an analytics data warehouse that gives you a high level of control over your data and applications.

Restriction

IBM Db2 for z/OS can only be used as a target data store for Data Replication.

Before you begin

Create a database user for Data Replication. Ask your Db2 Warehouse administrator to add a user for Data Replication in the Db2 Warehouse console. The administrator must add you by clicking Add user with user privilege User selected, not Add IBMid user (Administrator is not required). Request the Db2 hostname, port number, and database name.

Connecting to Db2 Warehouse in a project

To connect to Db2 Warehouse in a project in Cloud Pak for Data as a Service, see IBM Db2 Warehouse connection.

After you select a target, the schema mappings are displayed. The default setting for the target schema creates a namespace with the same name as the source schema. If you change the target schema value, Data Replication replicates to a schema with the name you specify. If no such schema exists, replication fails to start.
