When adding a new connection, You can select existing service instances for your IBM cloud or other cloud platform connections, and the new connection details will be automatically filled from that instance.
- Prerequisite
- You must be signed up for Cloud Pak for Data as a Service.
- Required permissions
- For creating or managing a service instance, you must have Administrator or Editor platform access roles in the IBM Cloud account for Cloud Pak for Data as a Service. If you signed up for Cloud Pak for Data as a Service with your own IBM Cloud account, you are the owner of the account.

Adding Integrated service instances:
- Add a new connection, and click Integrated service instances
- Select an existing integrated service where you want a connection created.
- Click Next.
- Enter the connection information. You can also auto-fill the connection information by clicking on Select instance. This will take the information from the existing integrated service and fill the necessary fields for the connection.
- Click Create.
You can create IBM Cloud service instances within Cloud Pak for Data as a Service from the Services catalog or with other cloud platforms. To access and connect to the services on other cloud platforms see: Integrating with data source services on other cloud platforms.
