To run some tools, you must associate a service instance with the project.
After you create a project, you can add an associated service to it at any time.
- Required permission
- You must have the Admin role in the project to add an associated service.
To add any service to a project:
- Go to the project's Manage tab and select the Services and integrations page.
- In the IBM Services section, click Associate Service.
- Select the service instance and click Associate.
If you don't have an existing IBM Cloud service, you can provision it. Services must be provisioned in the same region as your project. See Creating and managing IBM Cloud services.
Some types of assets require a service. If the service is not already in the project, you are prompted to associate it the first time you create the type of asset that requires it:
- Cognos Dashboard Embedded for dashboard assets
- IBM watsonx.ai Runtime for watsonx.ai Runtime model assets, modeler flow assets, and experiment assets
- Data Replication for data replication assets
All other core services don't require associations and are not listed on the page.
If you want to use other Watson services, you can use their APIs in notebooks by adding them to your project:
- Watson OpenScale
- Watson Discovery
- Watson Speech to Text and Watson Text to Speech services
