If you're an existing user, enable global asset identification to automatically update the common properties of connected data assets across different projects and catalogs so that you can manage such data assets properly and consistently. If you’re a new user, the option is enabled by default.
Required permissions
You must have the following roles and permissions to enable global asset identification:
- The Administer platform role and the the Manage catalogs permission.
Enabling global asset identification
To enable global asset identification, go to Catalog Management > Configuration and settings and switch the toggle.
If you enable global asset identification for your data assets, you can’t reverse it. When you enable global asset identification, existing data assets are consolidated; the common properties for connected data asset in catalogs are merged. You can’t restore the data assets to their state from before the consolidation.
Depending on the number of duplicate assets in the system, this process might take a while.
