You must choose an object storage instance when you create a project or catalog. Currently, your only choice is IBM Cloud Object Storage. Information stored with IBM Cloud Object Storage is encrypted and resilient. Each project and catalog has its own dedicated bucket. IBM Cloud Object Storage was formerly known as Cleversafe. See About IBM Cloud Object Storage.
You can encrypt the Cloud Object Storage instance that you use for projects and catalogs with your own key. See Configure Cloud Object Storage for project and catalog creation.
If you created a project previously, you might have associated an Object Storage OpenStack Swift instance. Projects with Object Storage OpenStack Swift continue to work.
