Una de las razones por las que la interfaz visual de SPSS Modeler es tan fácil de aprender es que cada nodo tiene una función claramente definida. Sin embargo, para procesamientos complejos puede ser necesaria una larga secuencia. Finalmente, esto puede desordenar el lienzo de flujo y dificultar el seguimiento de los diagramas de flujo.
Hay dos maneras de evitar el desorden de un flujo largo y complejo:
Puede dividir una secuencia de proceso en varios flujos. El primer flujo, por ejemplo, crea un archivo de datos que el segundo utiliza como entrada. La segunda crea un archivo que la tercera utiliza como entrada y así sucesivamente. Sin embargo, esto requiere que gestione varios flujos.
Puede crear un SuperNode como una alternativa más ágil al trabajar con procesos de flujo complejos. Los SuperNodes agrupan varios nodos en un único nodo encapsulando secciones de flujo. Esto proporciona ventajas a la minería de datos:
La agrupación de nodos da como resultado un flujo más limpio y manejable.

Para agrupar nodos en un SuperNode:
