Creating a connection in a streams flow
You connect to data sources and targets by using a connection to a service instance in IBM Cloud. Connections are shared among stream flows within the same project.
You can create a connection to the following types of service instance:
Your service instance in IBM
These instances are your provisioned services in IBM Cloud based on your region, organization, and space. As a result, the service’s access credentials automatically populate the appropriate fields in the
IBM services in IBM Cloud
These instances are IBM Cloud services instances that are external to your region, organization, and space. For example, you want to connect to an Event Streams service instance that you provisioned in a different region. To create a connection, you must supply the access parameters to that service instance.
The Service Location Filters in your IBM Watson Studio profile must include the same region as the resource you want to connect to. For example, you cannot create a connection to a resource in Frankfurt unless the Service Location Filters includes Germany.
