Deleting your Watson Query instance and removing your data

Deleting your Watson Query instance and removing your data

Watson Query instances are soft-deleted in production whenever you delete the instance in IBM® Cloud.

The instance stays in the soft-delete state for up to 3 days before it is fully deleted in IBM Cloud. If your instance is not fully deleted, you can re-enable the existing soft-deleted instance.

Deleting your instance in the user interface

To delete your Watson Query instance, click Delete in the action menu from the Resource list of the IBM Cloud dashboard or select your instance and click Delete service in the Actions menu.

Deleting your instance by using the CLI

You can delete your existing Watson Query instance by using the ibmcloud resource service-instance-delete command.

Note: Using the ibmcloud resource reclamation-delete command deletes a reclaimed resource so that the resource can no longer be restored.

Reenabling from a soft-delete

To discover available soft-deleted instances, use the IBM Cloud CLI ibmcloud resource reclamations command.

You can then undelete, recover, or reclaim an available soft-deleted instance by using the ibmcloud resource reclamation-restore command.
