Collecting statistics by using SQL in Watson Query

Collecting statistics by using SQL in Watson Query

You can collect statistics by using SQL instead of the web client.

Watson Query supports two methods for statistics collection that depend on the data source of the virtualized table. Be sure to collect new statistics whenever a file changes significantly. When you create a virtual view, be sure to collect statistics for all the tables that are referenced in the view. Statistics are not collected on views.

For virtualized tables over object storage
Use the ANALYZE command. To determine which virtualized tables are created over object storage, you can filter virtualized objects by type. Select Object Storage, Table, or View in the Filter menu in Data > Data virtualization > Virtualized data.
