Scaling Data Virtualization
Last updated: Nov 26, 2024
Scaling the Data Virtualization service

Resources for Data Virtualization are used to process queries from users and provide redundancy for the environments. The environment consists of compute, memory, and storage. Data Virtualization supports scaling of the environment in which storage is scaled automatically.

The following scaling techniques are available.

  • Cluster auto-scaling. The ability to add nodes to the cluster to be used by many instances. This scaling is restricted to scaling from three nodes to six nodes.
  • Formation scaling, horizontal and vertical. Horizontal scaling refers to the ability to add worker nodes. Vertical scaling refers to the ability to increase the capacity of existing software.

You can dynamically scale the system based on information that you have or can predict. Storage is auto-scaled to flexibly meet your scaled environment.
