The data source status gives an indication of the state of the connection to the data source. This information is useful when you connect to new data sources and you need to diagnose why a data source is not online.
Data source status descriptions:
- Active
- The connection pool for the data source is active.
- Idle
- The connection pool for the data source has shut down due to inactivity. Connections are reestablished whenever a workload resumes that uses those data sources.
- Initializing
- The data source was created and it is initializing. It is not currently populated and it is unknown whether it will become Active or Invalid.
- Invalid
- The connection pool for the data source is invalid due to an error condition. Examples of possible error conditions include: the data source is offline, user access was revoked, or the password or SSL certificate expired. Navigate to DVSYS.LISTREMOTEWARNINGS view to identify the specific error scenario. and use the SQL editor to review the entries in the
