Remote agents provide additional parallelism for accessing data sources, allowing for a greater number of data sources to be connected to Data Virtualization. Configure and start using the Remote Agent in Data Virtualization.
The Data Virtualization Remote Agent is a Java tool that you use to provide additional
capabilities to Data Virtualization including:
- Connecting to load balanced database servers.
- Providing access to files which may reside on the server itself,
- Improving performance as a result of additional parallelism and data locality.
To configure and to start using the Remote Agent in Data Virtualization, complete the following tasks:
