Creating virtual objects in Data Virtualization
You can use the Data Virtualization service to create virtual objects from various data sources so that you can query and use the data as if it came from a single source. Data Virtualization supports creating a virtual object from a single table, from multiple tables, or from files. You can also create a join view from multiple virtualized tables.

About this task

When you create virtual objects, it is important to gather statistics for the objects to ensure good query performance. For more information, see Improving query performance in Data Virtualization.
