Import assets from Information Governance Catalog into a catalog
You can import assets from your IBM InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog instance into a catalog after you create an archive file with the InfoSphere Information Server istool command-line interface.
See Integrate with Information Governance Catalog for restrictions and the types of assets you can import.

Import Information Governance Catalog assets
You must have Admin role in the catalog.
To import Information Governance Catalog assets into a catalog:
- Choose Add to Catalog > Import Assets.
- Browse for the file or drag it onto the drop area.
- Add a source tag to describe the source of the imported assets. The tag is added to all the imported assets.
- Click Import.
- If necessary, fix import problems. After the assets are imported, you'll get a notification with a link to the import summary report. The report lists the number of assets added to the catalog and any problems.
Edit each connection asset to an on-premises database:
a. Complete the connection asset. Associate an existing Secure Gateway service or configure and associate a new Secure Gateway service.
b. (Optional) Secure the connection asset. Mark the connection asset as private and then add only selected collaborators as members of the connection asset.
If you discover assets from a connection that was imported from Information Governance Catalog assets, you might create duplicates of existing assets in the catalog.
