Moving a custom model to a new Visual Recognition service instance

Moving a custom model to a new Visual Recognition service instance involves training the model with the same training data as before, but in the new service instance. This topic describes how to perform this task in IBM Watson Studio.

Prerequisite

The instructions in this topic assume you have the original data that was used to train your Visual Recognition custom model before. To train the custom model in the new Visual Recognition service instance, you will need to have that training data in your project.

Procedure

  1. Remove the old Visual Recognition service instance from the project:

On the Settings tab of your project in Watson Studio, in the Associated services section, select "Remove from project" from the ACTIONS menu (Vertical 3-dots menu).

  2. Delete the model that was trained on the old Visual Recognition service instance from the project:

On the Assets tab of your project in Watson Studio, in the Visual Recognition models section, select "Delete" from the ACTIONS menu (Vertical 3-dots menu).

  3. Add the new Visual Recognition service instance to the project:

    1. On the Settings tab of your project in Watson Studio, in the Associated services section, select "Watson" from the Add service drop down menu.
    2. Click Add on the Visual Recognition tile.
    3. Add the new service.

  4. Train the model in the new Visual Recognition service using the same training data as before.
