Deploy a model from the project

If you save a model or machine learning flow and decide later that you want to deploy it you can do that directly from the project area. You can deploy a model to make it available to a wider audience. Each model you create can have only one deployment.

Note: Currently, beta customers are limited to one deployment per user. If you receive an error message that you are over your limit, you can delete a previous deployment from the Deployments tab of your project.

Project deployment steps

  1. Open a project and select a model.
  2. From the Deployments tab, click Add Deployment.
  3. On the Create Deployment page select a deployment type by clicking one of the following tabs:

    • Web Service
    • Batch Prediction
    • Real-time Streaming Predictions
  4. Give the deployment a name and description. In the Name box, type a name and in the Description box, type a description.

  5. For batch and streaming predictions, you must complete the following additional fields:
    • Spark Service: Select an Apache Spark instance that is associated with the current project.
    • Data set to be evaluated: Select a source. You must retrieve your credentials from IBM Cloud. For a Batch Prediction, this might be a file in your IBM Cloud Object Storage or a connection and table from IBM Db2 Warehouse on Cloud. For a Real-time Streaming Prediction this is a streaming data source from an Event Streams instance.
    • Target location for model output: Select a target. You must retrieve your credentials from IBM Cloud. For a Batch Prediction, this might be a file in your IBM Cloud Object Storage or a connection and table from IBM Db2 Warehouse on Cloud. For a Real-time Streaming Prediction this is a streaming data target from an Event Streams instance.
    • Target update strategy: For a Batch Prediction, you must select how you want the target to be updated.
  6. Click Save.
